The AHIA Creative Awards are the premium awards platform that honour visionary talent within the hairdressing industry. They represent the highest standard of creative hairdressing excellence across Australia and New Zealand. Unlike the AHIA Business Awards, where Sloans were named AHIA Business Australian Salon of the Year 2025, Salon Team of the Year 2025 and Director of the Year 2025, these awards are judged on creative excellence. This celebrates the kind of artistry, technique, and vision that highlights the craft of hairdressing and allows stylists to show off their talents.

How Did Scott Earn His Finalist Placing?

To be named the best hairdresser in Australia by the AHIA Creative awards, you need to present a photographic collection. Scott put forward a stunning 6 piece work entitled ‘Kanso’. The inspiration for this was that it was born from a reaction to noise, excess, and over-stylisation. He wanted to seek quiet moments where hair can exist in its purest form.

Kanso is the Japanese concept that refers to the elimination of clutter and the stripping away of excess to find beauty, quiet moments, and purity in simplicity. It embraces vulnerability by removing distractions, leading to a stunning black and white showcase.
