While we know that every one of the Sloans team are incredible, we thought it was time to dive a little deeper and let you see some of our breakout stars and get to know them here on the blog. First up Chris Byrne, who we will all be cheering on Sunday night as he finds out if he will take home the coveted title of Australian Hair Fashion Awards Newcomer of the Year 2020.

‘Fashion obsessed’ just doesn’t seem to do justice to our Sloans’ Senior Stylist’s love of all things style. His affinity with fashion is truly all encompassing and underlies every aspect of his career and it’s this very fixation that led him to work in hair! Considering hair the ultimate finishing touch to every look, he soon realised that working as a hairdresser would allow him to help form part of his client’s style regardless of their clothing preference.

Chris Byrne

Chris has crammed a LOT into his time here with the best hairdressers Lane Cove. 2019 saw him named part of the illustrious FAME TEAM and mentored by some of the best in the industry. He has both directed and assisted on editorials and campaigns for L’Oreal Professionnel, EVO, MECCA X Urban Decay across titles including Stellar Magazine and The Journal. He was also named Finalist for Hair Expo Men’s Hairdresser of the Year 2019. He has also created some incredibly diverse and exciting work for publications including Men In This Town, Fen Hong Se and Schon! Magazine.

It’s also not surprising that he has found himself backstage at numerous fashion weeks, working for labels including C/meo Collective, Love Stories as well as with The Veronicas and performers at the Mardi Gras. He has also worked with a diverse client list, styling VIP’s including Rachel Finch to Julie Bishop.

With a knack for precision cuts and experimental styles, a pure appreciation of men’s grooming, a keen love of colour, as evidenced by being named NSW Semi Finalist for the 2019 L’Oreal Colour Trophy and Finalist for 2020, plus experience educating for L’Oreal Professionnel educational seminars and the recent TechniArt Relaunch, Chris is one of our most talented multi-hyphenates and we have our fingers crossed for his win!!
