Here at Sloans, we offer two types of extensions – Bonded and Tape In. Here we run through a few details about each:
BONDED EXTENSIONS
Not all bonded extensions are created equal, however the ones we have selected use quality protein polymer bonds which are attached directly to hair strands either with heat or ultrasound system. Bonds are made from synthetic keratin mimicking the molecular structure of natural keratin found in human hair and skin and maintaining a pH value of 5.5 to be compatible with your hair, scalp and skin. The result is undetectable attachments that are brushable, durable and, most importantly, non-damaging to your natural strands. They may last up to about 6 months, but it depends on how fast your hair grows. Removal is recommended every 4 to 6 months, depending upon the type of application performed, the condition of the natural hair and lifestyle.
TAPE IN EXTENSIONS
Tape in extensions are fantastic for partial work, filling gaps, adding volume, applying highlights and ombre effects, and are especially good for finer hair types. In short, the pre-taped weft of hair is typically sandwiched on either side of the natural hair, giving seamless results in a much quicker timeframe. Most can also be reused and reapplied as the hair grows and are gentler on the hair so a great option to try for the first time.
