28 Jan AN ODE TO RED CARPET STYLE
Is it just us or was the last red carpet a lifetime ago? It certainly feels that way. Obviously there have been more important things to deal with than premieres and awards shows but it doesn’t mean we can’t miss a little Hollywood style and inspiration. The glamourous updos, sleek ponytails, and chic cuts. Here our award-winning Sydney hairdressers choose a few of their favourite flash back looks which we can’t wait to recreate in the best salon North Sydney and the best salon Lane Cove.
Kate Bosworth
We are obsessed with this look on Kate Bosworth. The show stopping ponytail with a literal twist paired with the perfect outfit to allow it to shine. The pony has been masterfully twisted and secured without a hair out of place and the finish is super sleek and modern. When creating a pony like this, always keep some hair free to twist around the band for a more polished look, or if hair is extremely thin, our North Sydney salon has hair extensions available which will allow you to perfect this look. LOVE the low cowl back which helps to highlight the hair as it should! 10 out of 10. SO ready to recreate in salon.
Saoirse Ronan
There is nothing chicer than a simple bun centred at the back of the head. Leaving the natural texture yet still beautifully pulled back. The point of difference here is her perfectly cropped blunt fringe which keeps the look young and also softens the face- great for those who love an updo but not the feeling of all their hair pulled back. No fringe? We can fix that, or if you aren’t up for the change try a fun clip-in!
Florence Pugh
There is just something special about Florence – her infectious smile and down to earth nature make her impossible to take your eyes off. We love that she went for something so adventurous on one of her first big carpets with this architectural look. This knotted updo features braiding from the top and bottom worked together to create a unique shape and finish. The little cheeky tuft left off to the side keeps this look fun and fresh.
Lily Collins
Who hasn’t cringe-binge watched Emily in Paris? All of us? We thought so. Doe eyed Lily toned down the vibrant Parisian wardrobe with this YSL Winter 20 look which had everyone talking. She kept it simple with her style too but it was perfectly executed. A classic deep side part with a pony set at the nape of the neck, trailing down the back with some subtle and organic texture.
