14 Apr SLOANS DREAM BRIDE: NICOLA PELTZ BECKHAM
It’s been a while since we have had a multi-million dollar nuptial extravanganza to ogle and the Beckham/Peltz’s did not disappoint! With no expense spared this was one to rival the original Beckham wedding all those years ago when Posh Spice married Becks, throne and all. Taking place at the bride’s $75 million elaborate family home in Palm Beach, we can’t stop looking at every intricate detail from the custom Valentino Haute Couture dress to the three wedding marquees decked out in peonies, garden roses and hydrangeas. And, of course- the hair.
For her look, Nicola turned to the past for inspiration. According to hairstylist Adir Abergel she jumped on the recent obsession with all things 90’s and was inspired by ’90s supermodels a la Claudia Schiffer and French silver screen icons like Brigitte Bardot. Key for both of these looks was that iconic short curtain bang, making it stand out from the longer, sideswept ones we have been seeing all over recently.
The hair was pulled up into a half-up, half-down hairstyle to help anchor her huge and heavy veil but also to give a more undone and relaxed feel to offset the formality of her gown. Her hair was also the most immaculate buttery bright blonde to lift her features and add to the dramatic effect of the big day.
As Adir explained, “It was all about keeping her hair beautiful, soft and smooth. Think luxe, polished texture, but with fullness and movement to it.” But even this master stylist had his work cut out for him thanks to Florida humidity- something us Aussies know all about! A hair tip for your own humidity filled wedding?
