In her inaugural compilation, Isobel Allan presents a definitive colourist collection, with a fashion forward palette, superior colour techniques and unique placement selection.

Conceptually, the collection looks to represent an ‘unmasking’ of a previously hidden part of the female persona, representative through flashes of beautiful colour. This has been achieved by adopting a variety of balayage techniques, working from dark to light in both depth and tone. Say’s Allan ‘I wanted to construct a colour placement that could be almost camouflaged, should the female in the frame want to re-conceal herself.’

Key colour trends of pastel brights and colour blocking have heavily inspired the techniques of colour peeking and dip dying, specifically, a tangible nod to the A/W catwalk shows of Frida Giannini at Gucci and elements of Proenza Schouler’s spring collections.

The skin has very purposefully been kept nude and the composition of each model gracefully modest. ‘I wanted to avoid overcomplicating additional styling options to really keep the focus on the hair, and whilst the colour is delicate, make this the focal point of each shot,’ explains Allan.
